Constituent Communications Coordinator

The Times Square Alliance seeks a very-well organized individual with exceptional writing and interpersonal skills to assist in communicating with (and in some cases responding to) its many stakeholders, constituents and allies.

The Times Square Alliance works to promote and improve Times Square, cultivating the creativity, energy and edge that have made the area an icon of entertainment, culture and urban life for over a century. Our goal is to celebrate and serve this multi-use district that is home to some of the world's most famous theaters, companies, events and public spaces. The Coordinator will help achieve that by communicating effectively with an ever-growing constituency on a regular basis.

The Times Square Alliance's Communications team has managed the message for some of the most prominent placemaking and capital development initiatives in New York City, as well as some of the largest civic events, including New Year's Eve and the Summer Solstice yoga celebration. We have also been shaping the communications strategy for an array of advocacy efforts that have resulted in innovative pedestrian and public realm improvements.

The Constituent Communications Coordinator will work closely with the Communications team to coordinate and execute a strategy of regular outreach to our constituents regarding active advocacy efforts as well as upcoming events, programs, and offerings in the district; coordinate our database lists for easy deployment; assist in the creation of Alliance presentations for our constituents, stakeholders, and external parties; assist in the execution of constituent events that communicate our advocacy agenda and provide a service to our constituents; and field inquiries from our constituents and new businesses about the services we provide and seek assistance for them from additional staff.

The Constituent Communications Coordinator reports primarily to the Constituent and Communications Manager but is also accountable to the Director of Communications.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Responsible for writing and executing draft communications to Times Square stakeholders.

* Responsible for coordinating and updating our database lists for easy deployment of communications

* Supporting the department in responding to Times Square constituents, including residents, employees, businesses and property owners, and connecting those constituents with other divisions within the Alliance

* Supporting the Constituent and Communications Manager and the Communications Director on developing, administrating and executing a strategic plan of regular communications to constituents throughout the year

* Supporting the Constituent and Communications Manager and the Communications Director on developing, administrating and executing a series of events that support the Alliance advocacy agenda throughout the year

 

Qualifications/Skills:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills.

Required:

* Exceptional verbal & written skills (do not apply if this is not the case)

* Keen interest in various communications methods and tools (including digital)

* Exceptional administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills

* Detail orientation and deadline sensitivity

* Strong creativity and critical thinking skills

* Personal enthusiasm and individual initiative

* Experience with database management a plus

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, specifically Excel and Word
